I've been considering starting a blog for some time and finally decided to try it, so if you read it please bare with me whilst I find my feet, which hopefully I will. I'm starting a blog as I don't have many people in my life who share my enjoyment of gardening or dollshouses. Ok, let me answer your questions on the latter-if you are not into miniatures there may be a few questions buzzing round that I've been asked before. So here goes...
Yes, I am an adult who enjoys dollshouses. How many do I have you ask? Well let's see, 2 large 1/12th scale houses (I'll explain scale at a later date, if you're interested), about 5 1/12th scale shops (hmm, a sign I have too many that I'm not sure), a 1/48th scale house (it's tiny and still in pieces), and a 1/24th scale cottage and this is what has the garden attached. Do I play with them? Well the answer should be no, but don't trust a miniaturist who says that, because we do move things around in them and change things, which is like playing. Yes it's an expensive hobby but I sew, make food, and make what I can. It's a creative hobby, much like gardening.
Ok so back to the garden bit. I've lived in my current house for just over 5 years and it had a medium size garden. Which was mature, or rather, a little neglected when we moved in. So I've been trying to learn more about gardening whilst renovating it and changing it. So in my next post I will introduce you to the garden.
Hopefully this blog will be an outlet for my thoughts on gardening, my successes and failures, my projects, and generally my ideas for the garden that people in my life find boring!
I'll also try to keep a record of gardens I visit. I'm a national trust member and try to visit a few new places every year. Hmm, I think that will do us for now.
